It's looks creepy and kooky.....

It's sticky and sweet, and often tarty. It's the humble Pineapple. A fruit that is used widely and more importantly a fruit that is very positive with health giving attributes. It may be kooky to look at, but it is full of health in it's benefits. Here are the benefits of the Pineapple.

Bromelain and Pineapples

Bromelain is an enzyme abundant in Pineapples that aids digestion with protein foods. It is anti-inflammatory and is used in other purposes such as sore throat, sinusitis and perhaps gout. The findings in many studies have concluded that it can inhibit allergies also.

Vitamin C and Pineapples

Pineapples are a very good source of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is protective against the free radicals in the body that can cause many ailments. Vitamin C is fantastic against colds and flu.

Eyes and Pineapple

Pineapples are helpful in protecting eyes from macular degeneration. This is due to the high level anti-oxidants and the amounts of Vitamin C and Vitamin A.

So the pineapple has loads of potential as a health food. However, don't forget to clean your teeth afterwards as it is acidic to the teeth (not the body).

What Happens After You Drink Soft Drinks/Soda

•In the first 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor, allowing you to keep it down.

•20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (And there’s plenty of that at this particular moment.)

•40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate; your blood pressure rises; as a response, your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked, preventing drowsiness.

•45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine production, stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way.

•> 60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium, and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium.

•> 60 minutes: The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium, and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolytes, and water.

•> 60 minutes: As the rave inside you dies down, you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You’ve also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Cola/soft drink. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like hydrating your system, or building strong bones and teeth.

Fuel Thy Body

To give yourself energy through the day, is to continue eating every three to four hours. See most people just eat one, two or three meals per day, and every time they are doing that they are burning muscle and slowing down their metabolism. Then when they get hungry, they over eat and their body puts on fat. So all we have to do is have smaller and more frequent meals with protein, fat, and carbohydrates, which allows the body to work for you.

Advertising Lies

The amount of advertising on a day to day basis is something that really can confuse many people. The truth in advertising is often blurred, so here are the truths in a holistic way. This is a no nonsense and often harsh guide to reality.

1. Nutrigrain

Nutrigrain is advertised as a sporty cereal with high protein. But the amount of sugar in it is more than a normal chocolate cake. Once eaten, the insulin response of the cereal would go through the roof, creating an issue for the health of the body. The protein maybe higher than other cereals, but the high sugar content would outweigh the "protein" content and absorption.

2. Nutella

The branding of Nutella is that it is a healthy spread with the goodness of 'skim milk, cocoa and hazelnuts'. But look at the first ingredient, it is sugar. So the whole thing basically is sugar. It is better to have either Peanut butter, Avocado or Jam.

3. Meadow Lea

Meadow Lea is sprouted as a healthier option to butter. A man in a white coat talks about how butter can cause problems with your child's arteries. The funny thing is that doctors don't actually do nutrition studies at university and there is no actual scientific knowledge of butter causing these supposed problems. The sunflower seeds that are used in meadow lea are often heated and therefore are rancid. This is the product that actually can cause problems with the arteries.

4. Red Meat

The jury may be out with Red Meat, but the advertisement with Sam Neil is false. Once meat is entirely cooked, most of the nutrients are lost. So it is good to have it mostly raw. Also the advert focused on a chimpanzee. Chimpanzees don't actually eat meat, but are vegetarian (mostly).

5. Antibacterial Products

The amount of products sprouting the fear of germs have skyrocketed since the 1990's. The same time as peanut and shell fish allergies have increased. The products with antibacterial agents can cause more harm than good. There is no need to be germ free as it is impossible. Germs are needed for life. Yes the bad germs can always be wiped out, but that is your immune system's job. If people use to many of these antibacterial products, then hay fever, allergies and lower immune system can often result. It is best just to use hot water and soap. There are safer and healthier options for antibacterial such as tea tree and eucalyptus oil. These will not effect the immune system.

6. White Bread with more fibre

White Bread is just bleached bread that would resemble glue once digested. The extra fibre is often chicken feathers, but is always under a assumed name. Ditch the white useless bread and opt for darker heavier breads if you really need to.

7. Diet Coke/ Pepsi Max/ Coke Zero

These are just time bombs. The artificial sweeteners in these drinks are carcinogenic, the caramel colour is too carcinogenic and the phosphoric acid kills your bones (eventually) and your gut lining. If you are having these daily, it is better to drink poison. These are often sprouted as drinks that are healthier as it does not have any sugar. However they are basically poison to the body, which can lead to obesity and /or water retention. These drinks are often seen in the sense of 'fashion' and 'beauty'.

Watch out for Part Two.

VACCINATIONS. FORE or AGAINST.

It has been in the print media and on the news - vaccinations. There has been debates on fore or against. But whatever the side, it is good to know what is actually in the vaccinations, aside from the antibodies of the disease the body (immune system) will supposedly be protected from.

The following are the ingredients that are included in all vaccinations:

FORMALIN (Aqueous Formaldehyde)

MSG

PHENOL

BENZETHONIUM CHLORIDE

THIOMERSAL - A PRESERVATIVE. (50% MERCURY).

I guess this makes you want to rethink your next injection.

FOOD SIGNATURES

I went to a health talk to hear Don Tolman. He is from the US, and is very informative about food and nutrition, especially when it comes to fruit and vegetables and the body parts they resemble. Here are some examples:

AVOCADO:

When you open an avocado, it looks like a 'womb' and the stone looks like 'the baby'. The avocado is good for these organs, and for nutrition for the newborn.

CARROTS

The carrot, when chopped in half, looks like an eye. They are eye food.

CELERY:

Celery, which is 21 % sodium, looks like a bone. The bones also have 21% sodium. Eat more celery to have strong bones.

BANANA:

Bananas look like the obvious. This fruit is good for men...and it makes you smile.

LEMONS/LIMES/ORANGES

These fruits look like breasts. Have them for breast protection.

BROCCOLI

This green vegetable looks like a brain. It is in fact brain food.

CABBAGE

Cabbage is good for the lungs. They look like lungs.

So, that is a taste of how fruit and vegetables have a place as to the body parts they correlate with. Enjoy.

The TRUTH on AGEING

How we all look is by our lifestyles. We all want to stay and feel young. Well you can. Before I tell you how, here are the top five (in order from most damaging to least damaging) things that age you.

5. TOBACCO SMOKING/TRAFFIC CONGESTION

I have put smoking as the most damaging and ageing thing a person can do. Traffic and exhaust fumes are another. But sometimes that can't be helped. Second hand smoke (exhaust and from cigarettes) are the most damaging when it hits oxygen and hydrogen. To combat the ageing effects of these, eat more leafy greens, carrots, beetroot. You can also drink green tea and enjoy the tastings of Miso soup. Take plenty of vitamin C (minimum of 2,000mg per day) and eat apples.

4. SUGAR (also in the form of Cane Sugar (Sucrose))

Sugar is the most addictive and ageing food. It is more addictive then heroin (according to The World Health Organisation), and is the most used ingredient in food manufacturing. Cane Sugar (sucrose) is damaging to the body. It increases the insulin response and the pancreatic actions. It ages the cells in the body. Sucrose (Cane Sugar) is food for cancer and candida. It is acidic, and is detrimental to all parts of the body's systems. However, a teaspoon of 'raw sugar' cleans the liver, but this is only a small amount compared to the 500ml of can sugar an average person has per day. If people started to cut down on their sugar intake, it would make them more youthful and decrease the chances of getting diabetes. So the next thing is to switch to an artificial sweetener? No, that is worse. If you have to have sugar, go for honey, sultanas, and organic cane sugar (1 teaspoon minimum). Most of the sugar in processed foods is bleached and too processed for the body to recognise it as 'cane sugar'. To counterbalance the effects of sugar, drink Green Tea.

3. ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS (ASPARTAME, EQUAL, NUTRASWEET)

Aspartame was created accidentally in a laboratory between two amino acids. The scientist tasted this new powered substance, and noticed it was sweet. Many decades later, it is used in millions of products around the world, mostly in 'diet' foods and drinks. Aspartame is a neurotoxin (a neurotoxin is a toxin that acts specifically on nerve cells(neurons), usually by interacting with membrane proteins such as ion channels). Aspartame if heated can turn into formaldehyde (a known carcinogen). It is an ageing ingredient and can cause headaches, brain tumours, nervous disorders etc. The jury is out on aspartame, but it is not hard to find the millions of studies and papers on the negative aspects of it. If you want to counterbalance the aspartame, don't have it. If anything is sugar free, it probably has aspartame in it.

2. SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE/SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE (SLS)

SLS is used as a sudsing cleansing agent in body and face cleansers. It strips the good oils of the skin, and can make it dry. Some medical people think it plays havoc with the kidneys, as it does go to the bloodstream. SLS is ageing for the skin, even though it is used in anti-ageing products. There are natural based cleansers out on the market that are not so ageing and don't contain SLS.

1. MINERAL OIL

Mineral Oil is made from petroleum and is used in skin care products because it is cheap. It is often an ingredient in moisturisers from the cheap to the expensive. Even Sunscreens have mineral oil in it. Mineral Oil acts like plastic. It blocks the pores of the skin, and can cause havoc with the excreting organs of the body. For a nice moisturiser, use the natural ones, or just use Jojoba Oil, which is similar to the skin's own sebum. Much better than putting petrol all over your face.

You may be asking how come I haven't listed the Sun. Well comparative, it's not that ageing, and it is beneficial. But of course, only in moderate amounts.
